Cadet Program
We offer Cadetships to individuals who have recently completed Year 12 or have recently commenced University and wish to pursue a career in public accounting. Cadetships provide an excellent opportunity to work and gain experience in a progressive and successful rural accounting business whilst studying part-time for an appropriate tertiary degree.
To learn more about Accounting as a career, view our Careers Expo presentation from the recent Wimmera & Southern Mallee (WASM) Local Learning & Employment Network (LLEN) Careers Expo held on Thursday 30th of June 2011 at Longerenong College.
How the cadetships operate
Cadets are exposed to all aspects of accounting, auditing, superannuation and Australian Taxation Law.
Cadets undertake part-time studies in an appropriate degree course. We provide leave support to undertake studies through time off to attend lectures, tutorials and examinations.
On successful completion of the Cadetship, and subject to satisfactory work performance and academic results, a permanent position may be offered to the cadet to continue their accounting career with Green Taylor Partners.
Remuneration
The commencing salary for a Cadet is based on the amount of University completed. For a person who has just finished Year 12, the starting salary is in accordance with the appropriate clerical award. Continuation of the Cadetship, which is subject to an annual review of academic results and work performance, will see the Cadet’s salary advance commensurately.
How you apply
We normally recruit 1 new Cadet each year. Application forms are attached and can be lodged electronically through our websites or manually if preferred. Application Form
Applications will be received all year round with offers being made in November each year.
